Some years ago I took a month-long hiking trip to Africa that forever changed my outlook on life. It set me off on a knowledge of self journey and celebration of culture that continues to the present. If I had to name one inspiration for this album, it'd be Dead Prez's "Let's Get Free". It's in that spirit.

To say I'm a fan of the horror genre would be an understatement. I seek out the most rugged, depraved horror to watch every night. What started as a creative exercise to use as many horror movie titles as possible in a song turned into a whole psychological exercise into the shadows of my mind and the world. Why are we drawn to, or in most cases afraid of, the darkness? Welcome to The Horrors!
