For breakfast. 

Did I reheat it?
No.
It was cold. 

Did I plate it?
No. 
I wrapped it in a napkin. 

I wasn’t in the mood for
the usual. 

Gluten-free vegan bagel
Air-fryer crisped and
Garnished with
Plant-based classic chive cream cheese
Wild-caught, applewood-smoked salmon 
All from Whole Foods nonetheless. 

I didn’t have time for

Lightly-toasted, preservative-free
Multigrain bread
Sandwiching 
Two organic, free-range eggs
Prepared over medium
Atop 
Organic, nitrate-free, uncured turkey bacon
All from Trader Joes nonetheless.

No. 
I wanted leftover pizza. 

Cold. 
Cheese stiff. 
Grease congealed. 
Ready-to-eat.

I savored each and every bite
As I strolled to work
Early mind you! 

Because I’m a responsible adult
Who makes carefully considered
adult decisions,
